SSC Scientific Assistants Jobs 2017 : Vacancy Details

SSC invites online applications from the eligible Indians for the various posts in the Indian Meteorological Department.

No. of Vacancies: 1102 posts

Note: This is the tentative no. of vacancies only and actual no. of vacancies may either increase or Decrease

Pay Scale: Appointees will be paid monthly salary as Level 6 of the Matrix of 7th CPC (Pre Revised Rs 9300  - Rs 34800 GP: Rs 4200

Who can apply for Scientific Assistants in IMD?

Applicants willing to apply for Scientific Assistants post in IMD, must full fill the below-mentioned eligibility conditions.

1) Applicant should be an Indian National only.

2) Age Limit: Applicants Maximum age should not exceed 30 years (As on 4th August 2017)

3) Educational Qualifications: To apply for Scientific Assistants Job, you should full fill the below-mentioned qualification criteria

i) Applicant should have passed the 12th Class with Physics and Maths as subjects

ii) Applicant should have Degree in Science (With Physics), OR Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications. 


iii) Applicant should have completed Diploma in Electronics and Communications from a recognised Indian Institute Or University

Note: Applicant should necessarily have passed the Qualifying Exam in First Class ie Candidate should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks OR 6.75 on a 10 Point CGPA Scale.

Selection Process: The Selection process for the recruitment of Scientific Assistants in IMD comprises of an All Indian Open Written Exam to be held from 20th to 27th November 2017 in computer based online mode.

Note: 1) Applicants should take utmost care while attempting the Questions, as there is a penalty of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer.

2) Dates of Computer based online exam are only tentative and subject to change.

How to Apply?

If, you have applied for SSC Exams in the past then you should be aware of the fact that SSC only accepts applications through online mode and same is with the SSC Scientific Assistants Exam 2017.

Online Application: Online Registration for SSC Scientific Assistant is already started and you can submit your online form till 4th August 2017 (Up to 5 PM). It is highly advisable that you should not wait for the last dates for submitting the Online form.

1) Online Registration can be done at the SSC Online Website (www.ssconline.nic.in)

2) Before proceeding for online application, you should get the scanned copies of your Photograph and Signature.

3) Fill the application form, by following the On Screen Instructions.

4) Make sure to complete Both Part 1 and Part 2 of Online Application.

5) After completion of Application submission, make sure you have noted the Registration No. that will be required for Downloading the Admit card and checking the result.

Application Fees: The cost of application is only Rs 100 and that you can pay either through online mode Or through Offline Mode. For online payment mode, you should have SBI Net Banking OR SBI Credit/ Debit Cards, For payment through offline mode, you need to go to nearest SBI Branch and make payment through System Generated Challan form.

Female Candidates and those belonging to Reserved categories are exempted from payment of application fees.
