IBPS Common Written Exam is a combined entrance exam for shortlisting candidates for Interview process in the 82 Regional Rural Banks.Those who were declared as successful in the IBPS CWE for Regional Rural Banks, will be issued scorecards based on which they can apply for Assistant and Officers Jobs in these banks.So in order to apply for Jobs in Gramin Banks, one must pass the IBPS Common Written Exam.

What is the need for CWE for Garmin Banks ?


IBPS first came in news in July 2011, when it issued the Notification for the First Common Written Exam for Probationary Officers / Management Trainees in the 19 Public Sector Banks and since then it  has performed very well in the conducting the Common Written Exams.Then, there was notification by the Govt, that there will be CWE for RRB's also, but the point is the need for CWE for RRB's:

  • Large Scale Retirement of Employees in the coming 2 to 5 years
  • There had been virtually no hiring since 1990
  • The Business and workload have increased manifold.

The Date for the First IBPS CWE for Gramin Banks is announced and the exam date is 2nd September, 2012 for Officers and 9th September, 2012 for Assistants.Those candidates who will be declared as successful in these exams will be eligible to apply for Assistant and Officers Jobs in 82 Regional Rural Banks.Students must note that merely passing the IBPS Common Written Exam is not enough and it does not guarantee that you will be called for the Interview

In fact, IBPS CWE is only for shortlisting candidates for the Recruitment process.The Original Recruitment will be conducted by the Gramin Banks.So in order to apply for Gramin Banks, you must satisfy the respective banks Eligibility criteria in terms of Age, Educational Qualifications Local Language requirement, IBPS Score Requirement etc

Soon after the results of IBPS CWE for Gramin Banks will be declared, the successful students will be issued scorecards based on which they can apply for Jobs in Regional Rural Banks.The Banks will come with their Recruitment Notifications in the last months of  2012 or in the beginning of 2012.
